EUGENE, Ore. — Named one of “18 to Watch in 2018” by Politico, local residents can do that in person when national political leader and analyst Nina Turner visits Eugene to speak at the 2018 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Community Celebration. The event will be held Wednesday, January 17 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the ����Vlog�ٷ� Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. The event is free and open to the public. Earlier in the day, Turner will attend the annual University of Oregon MLK invitational luncheon.

“She’s the real deal,” says LCC President Margaret Hamilton. “It’s an honor to welcome her to our community.”

Turner is president of Our Revolution, an activist group in the Bernie Sanders' movement working to advance the progressive agenda in America. She was a prominent national surrogate for Sanders during the 2016 Democratic presidential primary. She served on the Cleveland City Council from 2005 to 2008 and in the Ohio State Senate from 2008 to 2014.

A popular analyst, Turner appears on numerous national television and radio shows including “Meet The Press,” “The Bill Maher Show,” “Democracy Now,” the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show,” “The Breakfast Club,” “The Bill Press Show,” “Thom Hartmann Radio,” CNN’s “The State of the Union with Jake Tapper” and “CNN Tonight with Don Lemon.”
