LCC’s Black Student Union will again host the annual community event
EUGENE, Ore. — The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Black Student Union will again present the Eugene community celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 16, from 5-7 p.m. at the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Downtown Campus, 101 W. 10th Ave. in Eugene.
This year’s presentation will be feature a unique keynote performance by Climbing PoeTree with Alixa Garcia and Naima Penniman who work for justice with healing and imagination by using multimedia theater, dual-voice spoken word, visual art, sustainable touring, and community organizing. No tickets are required but seating is limited so arrive early.
Earlier in the day, the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ County branch of the NAACP will lead the 30th Annual MLK March beginning with a gathering near the at Serbu Youth Center at 9 a.m. followed by the march at 10 a.m. to the Shedd Institute.
