LCC board seeks applicants for Zone 1 vacancy

EUGENE, Ore.–The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Board of Education is inviting applications for appointment to the Zone 1 position to fill the remainder of the term which expires June 30, 2021. Applications are due by February 22. Interviews will be held February 27. The board will hold a brief meeting during its March 3 work session to vote on the appointment.

Applicants must live within Zone 1 which is primarily western ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ County including west Eugene, Veneta and Florence. A complete zone description is .

The appointee may choose to run for election to a four-year term in the Zone 1 position in the May 18, 2021 special election. The deadline to file with ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ County Elections is March 9.

The board declared a vacancy at its January 20 meeting after accepting the resignation of Melanie Muenzer.

The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Board of Education has primary authority for establishing policies governing the operation of the college and for adopting the college's annual budget. The board's charge is to oversee the development of programs and services that board members believe will best serve the needs of the people of the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ district.
