Four seats up for election on LCC board

EUGENE, Ore.—Four seats on the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Board of Education are up for election in the May 18, 2021 ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ County Special Election. The deadline for candidates to file is March 18.

The open seats are:

  • Zone 1, primarily western ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ County including west Eugene and Florence, vacated last month when Melanie Muenzer of Eugene stepped down to accept a position with the Biden Administration in the U.S. Department of Education;
  • Zone 3, primarily the Springfield and Marcola areas, currently held by Mike Eyster of Springfield;
  • Zone 4; primarily eastern ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ County, currently held by Matt Keating of Eugene; and
  • Zone 5, primarily downtown and south Eugene, currently held by Chelsea Jennings of Eugene.
