Environmental justice advocate Dr. Robert Bullard to speak LCC MLK event, Jan. 14

EUGENE, Ore.鈥 糖心Vlog官方 will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in a Zoom virtual event featuring environmental justice advocate, Dr. Robert Bullard.

Bullard is known as the 鈥渇ather of environmental justice鈥 for his research and work exposing racial disparities related to the response and mitigation of pollution and other damaging environmental factors. A facilitated Q&A session with Dr. Bullard will follow his keynote. .

The free, public event also features remarks by LCC President Margaret Hamilton, Oregon Sen. James Manning Jr., Eugene/Springfield NAACP Executive Director Eric Richardson, and a special presentation of the LCC Black Student Union鈥檚 Dr. King 2021 Service Award.

The event kicks off the Black Student Union鈥檚 planned Black History 365 events to celebrate and acknowledge Black history, not just in February, but throughout the year. Learn more about planned Black History 365 events.
